Slightly encouraging news on the job front: I now have a part-time, nonpaid internship (gee, I’m making this sound so encouraging). BUT it’s in an industry I’m really interested in, music PR, though the firm has other projects like lifestyle and food (hey, you know me: I love to eat!). Though it’s not the ideal position (in that it’s not paid and I still have to drive a while to get there), it’s getting my foot in the door, so I’m super excited about this opportunity. Wish me luck and I’ll keep you updated!
I was recently introduced to a new musical group and I have to say, it’s been a while since I’ve really liked the majority of an album. The group is Ultraviolet Sound, and they’re an electronic dance duo that is perfect for dancing or rocking out or whatever your thing might be when you hear some dance music. A few artists that I thought of when I listened to their cd:
- Black Eyed Peas
- Katy Perry
- La Roux
I imagine that their music might be what Ke$ha might sound like, if she could actually sing. She’s not completely tone-deaf, but she uses so much auto-tune and basically speaks most of her lyrics that I can’t really consider her a singer. If you play Guitar Hero, you might know Freezepop; their song Less Pop More Rokk is one of the playable songs, I think for Play Station (don’t quote me on that). Hey, I discover great songs and artists from all sorts of places.
