Walking in LA

I feel like there’s a trend with this blog- every time I say that I’m going to do something, like work out more or dress with more pizzazz or whatnot, I fall ill.  Maybe it’s my sad sack of a body rebelling against anything that requires more than the most minimal amount of energy?  Regardless, not soon after I had blogged last time about being re-inspired to put a little more effort into my wardrobe and be more daring with my fashion choices, I caught a cold and spent the last 5 days holed up in my house.

Any fashion sense I ever possessed flew out the window, replaced by my faithful friends Oversized Sweatshirt and Generously Stretchy Sweatpants.  Not to say that those can’t be made fashionable, but not by a zombified version of me that shuffles around the house moaning and sniffling.  And of course, this last week was extremely busy at work, yet I had to work from home, having a pity party for myself as I grumbled about my aching body and runny nose.  It never rains, but it pours!

Anyways, to make up for the fact that not only did I not take pictures of inspired outfits, but I kind of failed to wear anything BUT baggy, mismatching pieces that all start with “sweat”, here’s an outfit I made with Polyvore, a site with which I have a mild obsession.  Basically you can put together virtual outfits out of items housed in a virtual, enormous catalog.  Every fashionista’s dream, no?  When I was younger, I wanted to be a fashion designer…then I realized I couldn’t draw.  I still love fashion, but if I was to do anything fashion related, it would either be as a stylist or artistic director…assuming, of course, I show up to work in something other than sweats.

I call this outfit “Walking in LA” because if I actually walked in LA, I’d wear this (if only my thighs were slender enough to fit into those pants…)  And also because that song was stuck in my head and I kinda sorta planned my outfit around the song.  But first I need to find the $1,000 or so to purchase said items.  Hey, nobody said I used Polyvore to plan outfits based on a budget!
